LCHS Annual Meeting

Historical Society Annual Meeting

In consideration of the current pandemic, the LCHS Board of Directors invites you to participate in the Lincoln County Historical Society Annual Meeting via Zoom on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 2:00 pm.

We will have our annual update on LCHS business for our membership and hold our board elections. We will also be hosting a preview of our two latest Ebb & Flow videos “The Bayley Mansion” and “The Copeland Collection” with Kevin Raichl, a noted Oregon videographer and executive producer. These videos were created with funding from the 2019 Oregon Heritage Commission Grant.

To attend the meeting, register for access over Zoom at the link below. If you are new to Zoom, you will be prompted to sign up for a free account. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

Everyone that registers will automatically be entered in a raffle at the meeting to win a basket of prizes!

LCHS Announces New Executive Director

Faith Kreskey Takes the Helm

The Lincoln County Historical Society is pleased to welcome Faith Kreskey as the new Executive Director of our organization. Kreskey takes over from Steve Wyatt who led the organization for eight years before his retirement in March 2020.  Kreskey has over ten years of experience as a museum professional and was previously head of the Curatorial Department at the Lane County History Museum in Eugene. On her work in museums and historical organizations “I have a true passion for the inspiring and collaborative environment museums provide and am personally dedicated to history education and preservation.”

A lifelong Oregonian who grew up in Reedsport, Kreskey is excited to return to the coast. She also looks forward to the new opportunities to explore the history of Lincoln County and share the stories of our past with the community. On her approach to local history Kreskey says “My focus is always on how our ties to place bring us together, and what we can learn from the lives and actions of those who came before us.”

LCHS Facility Closures

Concerns for public safety dictate the Lincoln County Historical Society close its facilities to the public: the Pacific Maritime Heritage Center, Burrows House Museum, and Log Cabin Research Center.

This closure is in effect immediately and will remain in effect until further notice.

Use caution, be healthy.

Thanks 2020 Crab Krack Supporters!

The Lincoln County Historical Society thanks all the 2020 Crab Krack attendees and contributors. About $15,000 was raised for renovations to the Pacific Maritime Heritage Center.
