Facility Rental FAQs
What is the capacity of the Maritime Center?
The facility can easily accommodate over 250 guests, with guests able to walk about and casually mingle. A maximum of about 100 can sit at one time in the Great Room for a formal sit down dinner. The outdoor deck has a seating capacity of 105.
How much does it cost?
In order to keep pricing low the cost of space rental varies proportionally with the complexity, duration, and number of guests at your event. The minimum charge is $400; a small wedding/reception $1400; a large elaborate wedding/reception could run over $2000.
Is alcohol allowed?
Yes, provided it is served responsibly and service adheres to Oregon Liquor Control Commission rules. Due to the risks involved an additional $100 fee is required.
Is food allowed?
Both professionally catered events and “pot luck” style food service are allowed. All food must be prepared off site and all trash and dishes must be removed when the event is over. The Maritime Center is equipped with a large household refrigerator and a separate small chest freezer, sinks, storage shelving, and food service bar for your convenience.
Does the Maritime Center have dinner and silverware?
No. At the conclusion of your event all dishware, food scraps and leftovers must leave with you.
Does the Maritime Center have tables and chairs?
Yes – both round and rectangular tables, and folding and stacking chairs are included with the rental fee.
Does the Maritime Center Have AV equipment?
Yes and no. Included with the rental fee are use of a projection screen, projector, a basic PA system, a small flat screen monitor, and laptop. Given the quirky nature of software it is highly recommended that your presentation be tested prior to your event.
Is smoking allowed?
No smoking or vaping is allowed in the museum or on museum grounds.
Are pets allowed?
No, service animals only.
Does the Maritime Center have parking?
The Pacific Maritime Heritage Center has 52 parking spaces and a few more informal spots that that work among cooperating motorists. Attendees to large events should be encouraged to car pool. Free parking is also available on Bay Blvd. Handicap parking is also available.
What days or times are available?
Call (541) 265-7509 and inquire about availability. Most events are held either after the museum closes at 4 PM Thursday-Sunday or on the days the facility is closed Monday-Wednesday. Events can be scheduled during the facility’s hours of operation but are subject to approval and additional rental fees.
