9TH ANNUAL CRAB KRACK FEBRUARY 12

This is happening! The Lincoln County Historical Society’s Annual Crab Krack will take place 4pm, Sunday, February 12th at the Best Western Agate Beach Inn in Newport. Previously scheduled for January 15th, the event was postponed due to the strike over crab pricing.

The delay has proven to be a good thing; the event is just in time for Valentines’ Day. Treat your date to a luscious fresh local Dungeness crab dinner and live jazz.

Crab for this community event is being donated by Ted Gibson, F/V Lady Kay; Bob Eder, F/V Timmy Boy, and Scott Lager, F/V Eclipse. Pacific Shrimp will donate the crab processing. Additionally, the generosity of a long list of local restaurants and merchants make this event possible.

This whole crab dinner event includes various side dishes, an array of desserts, a no-host bar, live music by the Bringetto Jazz Duo, and both a silent and oral auction. In short, something for everyone!

Event proceeds will be used to complete lower floor renovations at the Pacific Maritime Heritage Center. This year’s Crab Krack earnings will be matched (doubled) thanks to a  $45,000 challenge grant by The Collins Foundation. To date, the Society has raised 56% of the needed funds to meet the challenge. These funds will be used to complete the Doerfler Family Theatre, a 100+ seat media/event space made possible in large part by a grant from the Doerfler Family Trust.

The Agate Beach Inn is offering a special rate for guests attending the festivities, and reservations can be made by calling 541-265-9411, or 800-547-3310 and mentioning “Crab Krack” to get the special rate.

Tickets for the Crab Krack are available for purchase at the Burrows House and Pacific Maritime Heritage Museums. Cost for members is $45 per person, for non-members, $55. Memberships start as low as $20 a year. For more information, to purchase tickets, or reserve your table for 8, call the Historical Society at 541-265-7509.
